Single-handed or crewed

Within the Sports Section, five coaches, all holding state certifications, support young athletes in their sporting journey to guide them through their progress, across four different types of boats, whether single-handed or crewed.

Optimist

7 - 15 years old

The Optimist boat is perfectly suited for young sailors. It is a simple and stable dinghy that allows children to learn the basics of sailing in complete safety, while providing them with a playground to develop their competitive spirit. The Yacht Club de Monaco takes pride in offering a learning environment where young people can thrive, acquire technical skills, and make friends while having fun.

ILCA 4,6 et 7

14 years

The Yacht Club de Monaco is proud to promote the ILCA class (International Laser Class Association), one of the most competitive and respected disciplines in the world of sailing. The ILCA class, formerly known as Laser, is the ideal stepping stone for young sailors aspiring to compete with the elite of international sailing (Olympic class).

j/70​ YOUTH SAILING TEAM

+ 15 years

The Yacht Club de Monaco offers young sailors an exceptional opportunity to get into crewed competition with the J/70 class. Known for being a fast, technical, and dynamic one-design, the J/70 has become a benchmark class in the world of yachting. It is ideal for young talents looking to take their passion for sailing to the next level.

MONACO SPORT ACADEMY

To achieve excellence

Under the presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, alongside Bernard d’Alessandri, the Monaco Sport Academy was inaugurated in 2018. Designed for Monegasque athletes aged 10 to 22, the Monaco Sport Academy aims to shape them into the citizens of tomorrow by providing support in their academic, athletic, and personal journeys. These young athletes aspire to embody ambassadors of integrity and champions of sustainable projects.
