As part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy, the Yacht Club de Monaco is leading several initiatives, including the recycling of pool water through technology developed by the company FGWRS. This sustainable approach contributes to the preservation of the environment and the responsible management of water resources. The recycled water is redirected back to the pool, particularly during the filter cleaning process, replacing the potable water that would typically be used for this purpose.
UV lamps have been installed throughout the ventilation system of the Y.C.M. to combat microbial spread by treating and disinfecting the entire air supply injected into the building. This system helps reduce the presence of pathogens by 99.99%, making it a first in the Principality!
The Yacht Club de Monaco integrates thalassothermy to exploit the temperature difference between surface and deep seawater. This system not only powers the heating and cooling of the premises but also serves specific applications, such as the refrigeration system in the kitchens, ice machines, and air conditioning units. This sustainable and renewable technology is a key part of our commitment to energy transition and environmental sustainability.
In a comparison between an all-electric system and a thalassothermy system, the all-electric system consumes 100 watts (W), while the thalassothermy system consumes only 33 watts. This significant reduction in energy consumption underscores the efficiency and environmental benefits of thalassothermy.
The outdoor terraces are constructed from high-quality exotic wood with certified origins: Elondo, sourced from FSC-certified forests (Forest Stewardship Council) for sustainable forest management. The transformation and drying processes are carried out in Europe. For the interior flooring, FSC-certified European oak was selected, with joints that replicate the look of boat decks, allowing for large surfaces while maintaining the natural movement of the wood.
Large-format panels, made of white lacquered aluminum, are used for the wall cladding. This system allows for the easy installation of display rails (cimaises), offering maximum flexibility for decoration. The interior ceiling is designed with triangular slats made of FSC-certified European oak, combined with acoustic fabric to enhance sound quality and comfort within the space.
