Ambassadors

present on the international stage

The Yacht Club de Monaco stands out on the international stage for its commitment to promoting excellence in yachting, blending tradition with innovation. The club is represented worldwide by its ambassador vessels, which embody the values and spirit of the Y.C.M. These boats take part in prestigious competitions and international events, flying the Club’s colors on the world’s most renowned nautical stages.

Tuiga

Tuiga, a masterpiece by naval architect William Fife III, is a living symbol of elegance and maritime tradition. Built in 1909 at the request of the Duke of Medinacelli, Tuiga was designed based on the royal yacht Hispania, for King Alfonso XIII of Spain. Their striking resemblance and intense rivalries have marked the history of yachting, fueling rumors that Tuiga was intentionally slowed down to prevent it from surpassing the royal yacht.

Carefully restored by Duncan Walker at the Fairlie Restorations yard, Tuiga has been the ambassador of the Yacht Club de Monaco since 1995. Moored at the Y.C.M. dock, it participates in the most prestigious regattas across Europe, proudly representing the Principality of Monaco on the world’s largest international yachting stages.

Argynne III

Argynne III, A classic Marconi sailboat, whose crew also includes passionate members of the Yacht Club de Monaco, joined the Monegasque fleet in 2022 following the generous donation from Philippe Ortelli. This 1955 Cornu design, once owned by Professor Charles-Louis Chatelain, former President of the Y.C.M., now sails alongside Tuiga on the most beautiful waters of the Mediterranean and lines up at the start of the most prestigious traditional yachting races.

Malizia III

Founded by Pierre Casiraghi, vice-president of the Yacht Club de Monaco, Team Malizia combines athletic performance, technological innovation, and a commitment to sustainability, with the ambition of inspiring new vocations. After finishing 5th in his first Vendée Globe in 2020, Boris Herrmann, a member of the Y.C.M., has committed to a new five-year campaign aboard his new IMOCA 60 Malizia-Seaexplorer. On November 10, 2024, he set off from Les Sables-d’Olonne for the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe, a solo circumnavigation of 24,300 nautical miles (45,000 km) without stopovers or assistance. Already the winner of the IMOCA championship 2018/2020, Boris has established himself as an essential figure in offshore racing. After a controlled and trouble-free journey for three-quarters of the race, Boris Herrmann crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe 2025 on January 29 at 11:18 PM aboard Malizia-Seaexplorer. However, in the final miles, the skipper had to face a series of challenges: a hook break, a collision with an UAN (Unidentified Object or Animal), and particularly difficult weather conditions as he approached the Vendée coast. Despite these obstacles, he demonstrated great resilience and completed this legendary race, thus marking a new chapter in his sporting adventure.
